Friendly and quick. Food comes out fresh and hot. This is mostly a take-out spot, but they have a few tables to sit and eat. Cash only!
Great food, especially for take out. You get a good amount of food for the price, and it tastes good. We usually get the oyster noddle, sing gua veggies, beef chow fun and fun Tuan rice roll. They also have good Taiwanese soy milk breakfast with egg roll. Maybe weekends only?
Budget friendly meals. I tried 49 上海粗炒麵 shanghai thick noodle $12 and 61 牛腩麵 beef brisket noodle $12 Shanghai thick noodle uses a thin, chewy ramen noodle. It's different than the traditional style, it has a flavorful sauce with pork over the noodles. Pretty yummy. Beef brisket noodle uses the same thin and chewy ramen noodle. Beef is tender and flavorful, broth is a bit salty and has msg. I enjoyed both and such a great deal for the price!
I heard that this little cafe served really authentic Taiwanese dishes and I was excited to go and try it out for myself. I was specifically interested in their fan tuans (rice burritos) since it is rare to find them in the Bay. They only make them over the weekend and it's considered a breakfast item. The fan tuans were huge and one was enough as a full meal. There was plenty of filling (pork sung, Chinese donut, and picked veggies) and the first time we went, they offered to add an egg and some cilantro and green onions if we wanted it. We've been back a few times and it always hit the spot. We also went when they had a bunch of zong zis available, both the savory and sweet ones. We bought one of each and were able to reheat them back at home. The most recent time we went, we ordered their beef noodle soup and their Shanghai noodles. The beef noodle soup was extremely flavorful and the meat and tendon were both cooked with a perfect amount of tenderness. I wish it had more toppings and veggies, but nevertheless, it was still very good and felt authentic. I wasn't as impressed with the Shanghai noodles, but because the other dishes tasted so good, it wasn't a big deal and we were still able to finish it. I always look forward to going back for more Taiwanese food and can't wait to continue exploring what they have to offer. Keep in mind they are cash only and accept orders placed over the phone ahead of time for pick up.
